About City

Prague, the 15th largest city in the European Union, is the capital of Czech Republic and is the home to about 2 million people. Prague is also called the historical capital of Bohemia. Prague is situated on the Vltava river in the centre of the Bohemian Basin. Prague is approximately at the same latitude as Frankfurt, Germany; Paris, France and Vancouver, Canada. Prague has been a political, cultural and economic centre of central Europe with waxing and waning fortunes during its history. Prague is a home to a number of famous cultural attractions like the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with the Prague Astronomical Clock, the Jewish Quarter, Petrin hill and vysehrad. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Prague is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. Classified as an “Alpha-“ global city according to the GaWC studies, Prague boasts itself with ten major museums, along with numerous theatres, galleries, cinemas and other historical exhibits. An extensive modern public transportation system connects the city. The city of Prague lies between oceanic climate and humid continental climate. The city has a very temperate climate, with warm summers and chilly winters. The city is traditionally one of the cultural centres of Europe, hosting many cultural events. And if you are a movie lover, then you would really be thrilled to visit Prague which houses various Hollywood sets from the movies Mission Impossible, Alien vs Predator, Chronicles of Narnia and Hellboy.
